‘Apsara off-duty’ is the artist’s take on an infamous Apsara of Sigiriya frescoes, where originally she is depicted with a carefully done up hair-do. The core concept is that once she’s off from her duties of foraging for flowers, she’d let her hair down at the end of the day, just like any other girl.
