Jodi is back in Sri Lanka for its second exclusive pop-up at The Design Collective Store, bringing its new collection from 30th July to 1st August
There are some brands that make clothes. And others? They build worlds.
Jodi has always belonged to the latter. Every collection the brand designs begins with a story, before it moves to a silhouette, print, or hand-finished garment. That’s precisely why the Indian label has gained a fan-following amongst fashion crowds. Case in point: Their many features in top-tier magazines like Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, Elle, Voice of Fashion, and many others.
The Design Collective is pleased to announce that Jodi is back in Sri Lanka for its second exclusive pop-up at The Design Collective Store! Block your calendars from 30th July to 1st August as we bring you the brand’s newest collection: Only Fools & Fish.
What’s more: You’ll have the opportunity to meet co-founder Gauri Verma throughout the showcase!
Introducing The Newest Collection: Only Fools & Fish
This is a collection inspired by folklore, inspiration, and life along India’s Konkan coast. Only Fools & Fish revolves around two mysterious characters from the ancient land. Mohe is a woman who seems to appear with every changing season meanwhile Eka is a mythical fish believed to move effortlessly between worlds of the surface and the deep sea, observing everything without ever revealing its secrets. Fishermen on the Konkan coast believe that Eka (old Goan lore) is Mohe’s only confidant and knows something you don’t.
Jodi’s Spring-Summer 2026 collection promises a tidal wave of expressive prints, splash of colour, and intricate handwork. Through the brand’s signature design aesthetics, Only Fools & Fish celebrates individuality in a world which gives into conformity. If you’re keen to build a wardrobe that’s unique, artistic (without being theatrical), and playful, then this is a pop-up you don’t want to miss.
An Exclusive Chance To Meet The Designer
One of the highlights of the weekend pop-up is the opportunity to meet Gauri Verma, co-founder of Jodi, who will be present from 30th July to 1st August. Ask her questions about Jodi, the new collection, creative process of designing the prints, and whatever else that comes to mind.
This is your chance to look beyond the finished garment and understand the story, techniques, and craftsmanship behind every print.
The Story of Jodi
It’s unquestionable that we live in an era where trend cycles disappear before you may even have heard of the trend. But sustainable labels like Jodi continue to slow fashion down and help us appreciate luxury in its purest form.
The brand was founded by friends Gauri Verma and Karuna Deora, whose shared love of craftsmanship first brought them together during their time at Elle magazine. Jodi, named after the Hindi word for “pair”, has always celebrated unexpected combinations in honour of the founding duo. They beautifully mix together colour with craft, traditional design with contemporary silhouettes, fun prints with polished aesthetics, and so much more.
Every collection is rooted in India’s rich craftsmanship heritage, celebrating techniques like handblock printing, Bandhani dyeing, and intricate hand embroidery. Following their own fashion cycle, each one of Jodi’s collections feels timeless yet unmistakably contemporary.
From Thursday, 30th July to Saturday, 1st August, discover Only Fools & Fish at the Colombo location of The Design Collective Store. From beautifully crafted handblock printed clothing to an exclusive meet-and-greet with one of India’s most celebrated creative minds, this pop-up is not to be missed!
